On the 23rd and 24th of October 2019, the "International Symposium on Digital Platforms for Maritime Safety and Security Applications" took place in Bremerhaven, Germany. With the event, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, together with the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, addressed current topics of maritime security research in relation to the German National Masterplan Maritime Technologies (NMMT).
The Bremen Senator for Science and Ports, Dr. Claudia Schilling, opened the event. In more than 30 lectures, the subject of maritime security was comprehensively presented and discussed. Harbour Master Andreas Mai, head of the Port Authority of the Hanseatic City of Bremen, emphasized in his presentation that cybersecurity is currently a very important topic for ports. The project SecProPort was presented as part of the accompanying exhibition on the stand of project partner ISL.
